BEETLE & BAT EMBRACES CIRCULARITY

In a major step towards more responsible production, GUBI has redeveloped GamFratesi’s beloved designs using a recycled-plastic composite. Utilizing advanced technology and customized material blends comprising over 50% recycled plastic, GUBI has been able to make production significantly more responsible, while retaining the same quality and performance as virgin plastic. Every variant of both Beetle and Bat will now be available in the new material – a leap forward in GUBI’s journey towards phasing out virgin plastic.

NEW COLOR OPTIONS

With the new material comes a new range of color options. Created by introducing pigments to the plastic at the molding phase, the three new shades – Fern Green, Lunar Gray, and Mocha Brown – ensure there is still a Beetle and Bat for every interior setting – with three options for outdoor use in the existing colorways of Black, New Beige, and Alabaster White.

INSPIRED BY NATURE

The embracing shell with armrests equally embodies both aesthetics and comfort while carrying strong references to the interesting and distinctive shape of a bat’s wingspan.

BAT MEETING CHAIR

One of the most cherished chair designs in GUBI’s collection, the Bat, have been given a functional makeover with the addition of an adjustment mechanism that takes them to new heights of versatility.

The rounded shells of the chair embrace the sitter, making normal, active and passive postures comfortable even over long periods.

Elegant lines of lightness

Both the Beetle and Bat Dining Chairs are iconic in their design. Their organic shapes and distinctive silhouettes offer universal appeal.

“Balancing between the traditional and surprising, the Bat Dining Chair is created with a Scandinavian approach to crafts, simplicity and functionalism while also carrying a strong embedded story and associations expressed in a minimalist idiom.”

GAMFRATESI

GamFratesi Studio was established in 2006 by the Danish architect Stine Gam (born 1975) and the Italian architect Enrico Fratesi (born 1978). GamFratesi belongs to the latest generation of furniture architects and together they represent a new interpretation of the meeting between Danish and international design traditions.

GamFratesi's design takes its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and renewal and in an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques.
