UPHOLSTERY LEATHER
The GUBI Upholstery Leather Collection is designed to give design lovers the inspiration to create interiors that suit their own style. The curation runs the gamut from bold that capture the attention and set the mood of the space, to more subtle neutral staples that complement and enhance other design features. Below we have gathered some of the most important recommendations concerning maintenance of GUBI products.
ANILINE LEATHER
Aniline leather is dyed all the way through with the same color, with no topcoat paint or protective coating. Natural imperfections, such as manure burns or barbed-wire scratches, remain in the leather, so that it retains its natural feel. Aniline leather offers extreme comfort and breathability but is also very sensitive to spills and stains. If you have furniture made with aniline leather, maintenance is extra important so that the leather is fully protected and ages beautifully.

NUBUCK
Nubuck is top grain leather that has been sanded and buffed on the grain side or outside to produce a velvet like surface. It is similar to Suede but is created from the outer side of the hide giving it more strength, thickness and a fine grain. It is more premium than suede.
GUBI Recommended Upholsteries:
Chamois
PROTECTED LEATHER
Protected leathers have a non-leather coating sprayed or attached to the leather as a protectant. Protected leather is durable, practical and innovative. It is a stunning leather choice for the most demanding of settings. With unique anti-bacterial properties, the protected leather ensures that the highest hygiene standards are met, without compromising on aesthetic ambitions. The leather may develop a beautiful patina over time.

CORRECTED LEATHER
Corrected leather is top grain leather where the surface has been polished or buffed to remove imperfections such as scars from the surface of the material.

Half-grain leather is a homogenous natural grain leather with extremely soft touch. Half grain leather will provide an enduring and gradually evolving character to GUBI furniture. With a gentle yet visible grain, sensuous texture, a velvety smoothness and a delicate sheen, the half grain leather can be enjoyed daily in home interiors for many years.
