GRAVITY TABLE LAMP
AVAILABLE NOW IN UPCYCLED-MARBLE EDITION
EXCLUSIVE NEW SURFACE PATTERN
A sculptural balance of strength and fragility, the Gravity Lamp by Space Copenhagen is beloved for the elegance of its form and the imposing beauty of its marble base. With this upcycled edition of the table lamp, GUBI gives Gravity an exclusive new surface pattern, while embracing innovative circular-production methods that minimize waste.
WONDER FROM WASTE
Where the standard Gravity Floor and Table Lamps are cut from single marble blocks, the upcycled-edition seizes the opportunity presented by the offcuts, salvaging pieces of waste marble from the process and transforming them into bases for new lights. Rather than using inherently limited virgin materials, GUBI has developed a technique for upcycling stone that would usually be discarded as waste into a high-value product.Because the making of the Gravity Lamp: Upcycled-Marble Edition is cyclically linked to the production of the original design, quantities are necessarily limited, giving the lamps an inherent rarity that only enhances their allure.

OPPOSITION OF DARK AND LIGHT
The distinctive stripe pattern that defines the lamp’s aesthetic is created by alternating offcut slices of dark and light marble. In keeping with Space Copenhagen’s interest in juxtapositions, antitheses, and contradictions, this introduces additional dualities to an already highly contrast-rich design – as well as the opposition of dark and light, there is also the clean-lined precision of the parallel bars of color on the base, versus the naturally random patterns in the veining of the marble.
A TOUCH OF PLAYFULNESS
The Gravity Lamp: Upcycled-Marble Edition is available as a table lamp in two sizes: a smaller version with thinner stripes of gray and white marble, and a larger, darker variant with wider, gray and black stripes. Both versions retain the elegant form for which the Gravity design is celebrated, while introducing an extra touch of playfulness into its aesthetic expression, softened by the warmth and subtlety of its light.
SPACE COPENHAGEN
Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen works across multiple disciplines. Driven by curiosity, the studio aims to forge new paths by balancing opposites — classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimal.
Described as ‘poetic modernism,’ their work is characterized by dualities and contrasts, the result of a thoroughgoing exploration of concept and a meticulous attention to detail. The kinship between Space Copenhagen and GUBI is defined by a shared philosophy that combines elegant simplicity with a cosmopolitan international outlook.
