PEDRERA COFFEE TABLE
BY BARBA CORSINI
Comprising a slender, V-shaped steel base topped with flowing, organically rounded glass, the Pedrera Coffee Table has an airy, sculptural form that makes an impressive from every angle.
A MODERNIST CLASSIC
The Pedrera Coffee Table was first developed in 1955 by Barba Corsini, while Corsini was working as chief architect on the Casa Milà building, commonly known as La Pedrera. The coffee table is with its slender base and glass table top, a light table that fits into any contemporary home.
DISTINCTIVE CONTOURS
Corsini conceived the table while working on the development of 13 apartments in La Pedrera’s loft spaces. La Pedrera’s striking architecture is the embodiment of Gaudí’s belief that there are no straight lines in nature and that buildings should reflect the irregular geometries of the natural world. Inspired by La Pedrera’s distinctive contours and the vaulted ceilings in particular, Corsini devised the Pedrera Coffee Table’s undulating steel frame.
A CONTEMPORARY INTERIOR STATEMENT
The coffee table has since 2010 been available with base options in semi-matt brass and semi-matt black steel. Now the coffee table is also launched with a gleaming chrome base, adding a glittering allure. Applied to the V-shaped frame, chrome elevates a modernist classic into a contemporary interior statement.
GLEAMING CHROME
The addition of the new chrome option gives the table a material identity attuned to its 1950s heritage and lends a gleaming new dimension to Corsini’s distinctive response to Gaudí’s architectural aesthetic.
GRABBING THE ATTENTION
Chrome works brilliantly in high-contrast color schemes, catching the light and turning up the volume with its reflective surface. It can also support more neutral decor, adding warmth or coolness as needed. However and wherever it is used, chrome never fails to grab the attention.

POWERFUL SIMPLICITY
Barba Corsini (1916-2008) was a leading functionalist architect who won international praise for his architecture and his design for La Pedrera in Barcelona. Powerful simplicity' is perhaps an apt description of Corsini's personal design style, as represented by the Pedrera Collection.
Working with the curator and gallerist Joaquim Ruiz Millet, who had collaborated with Corsini in the past, GUBI has relaunched the Pedrera Coffee Table.
