3D COLLECTION

BY KOMPLOT DESIGN

Designed by Komplot in 2003, GUBI’s landmark 3D Chair was the first to incorporate three-dimensional veneer technology into its manufacture.

Seen from the front, the organic soft shape of its shell seems full-bodied, but viewed from the back, the shell is surprisingly thin and the form is hollow, maintaining the original concept of the 3d chair.

“The GUBI 3D Chair was designed with passion and a smile. The new Recycled Edition has an informal and welcoming aesthetic – its soft, curved lines almost say, “please, take a seat.” It invites you to move around while seated, to take free seating postures, to sit sideways, to use the back as an armrest. It’s a very friendly and accommodating chair.”

Bar Stool

The GUBI Counter Stool, designed by Komplot Design, was the first furniture design to be based on the innovative technique of moulding three-dimensional veneer. The 3D design gives the stool a comfortable seat and a sense of lightness – with all edges pointing away from the user.

Outdoor edition

GUBI has developed the Recycled Edition – an environmentally friendly option, perfect for outdoor use, that is made using recycled plastic. The plastic shell echoes the form of the natural veneer edition, with all of its edges curving away from the sitter, offering unparalleled comfort and unexpected light weight.

With the wide range of seating shells in veneer and in plastic and numerous bases, the gubi 3d chair allows a unique and personal expression for both the private home, office or restaurant.

The furniture design has been awarded in several prestigious design awards and is included in the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
