Care & Maintenance

METAL

All good things that are made to last need good care. Below we have gathered some of the most important recommendations concerning maintenance of GUBI products.

POWDER COATING

Powder coating is where a powder has been applied to the metal surface to create a smooth and hard finish.

LIQUID COATING

Liquid coating is where a coating has been applied through painting the metal surface, the surface is ground, then a layer of the liquid coat is applied on top.

CHROMA PLATING

Chrome plating is where a thin layer of chromium has been applied on top of a metal core through an electroplating procedure. This creates a chrome finish.

BLACK BRASS PLATING

Black brass is where a thin layer of black brass finish is applied on a raw metal surface through an electroplating procedure. The surface is then polished, and a black nickel plating is applied on top, finally, the surface is brushed. This process gives the material a black finish.

GUNMETAL

Gunmetal has a PVD coating applied on top of a brass plating. Brass plating is where a thin layer of brass is applied on a metal surface through an electroplating procedure. Gunmetal finish creates a dark, smooth, and matte effect.
