PR & Communications Intern (Unpaid)

GUBI is a modern design company offering a wide variety of luxury furniture, lighting, and interior objects for both residential and commercial settings. With a strong global presence, GUBI’s headquarters and showroom are located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

About the position

Are you studying communications or PR and interested in furniture and interior design? Would you like to work in a dynamic international design environment? As GUBI’s PR & Communications Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the team’s daily press work, product launches, and communications tasks. You’ll work closely with the PR & Communications team and collaborate with colleagues across the business. The role offers the opportunity to learn how we build media relationships, share the stories behind our designs, and coordinate the practical details that make press projects happen.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the daily running of the press office and respond to media inquiries.
  • Research journalists and media outlets, and maintain media lists and press contacts.
  • Assist with drafting press communications.
  • Prepare and distribute press materials, product information, and imagery.
  • Maintain the press room and image bank.
  • Coordinate product loans for editorial shoots, from initial requests through delivery and return.
  • Monitor media coverage, maintain the press archive, and prepare PR reports.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of launches, events, and campaigns.
  • Support other PR and communications projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently studying communications, PR, journalism, or a related subject, with the internship forming part of your studies.
  • An interest in furniture, interiors, and design.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in communications or PR is an advantage, but not required.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office. Experience with Mailchimp, Vocast, or Adobe Creative Cloud is an advantage.

Language skills

Excellent written and spoken English. Native-level proficiency in English is highly appreciated but not a must.

Personal attributes

  • Curious about media and how design stories are told, and keen to learn new skills.
  • Open-minded and collaborative, with clear communication and a positive approach to teamwork.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a structured approach to tasks.
  • Comfortable managing several tasks at once and adapting when priorities change.
  • Proactive in following up to keep projects moving, and willing to ask questions along the way.
