On the edge of Frederiksberg Gardens, where the city softens into green, a house has kept the same address since 1824. Josty is a café, a hotel, and a special place for gathering.

The entrance sets the tone immediately with glazed tile floors, high ceilings, and original paintings whose 18th-century motifs nod to the palace life unfolding just beyond the garden walls. Frederiksberg Gardens was the summer seat of the Danish monarchy for nearly 150 years, and the lobby carries that history.
“Refreshments for those out walking” - was the original offer. What surrounds you now is something considerably grander: a frescoed ballroom with the proportions of a state occasion, leading through to a dining room that looks out over the same park the Danish court once used as its summer garden. The view has not changed in two centuries.
The rooms take a slightly different position: quieter, more contemporary, guided by the same design principles GUBI brought to the spaces. Where the ballroom looks to the past, the residences provide the comforts of right now. Eight rooms. Garden views. Waking up inside a piece of Copenhagen history.
