Light is the first thing the rooms agree on. Carlo Nason, born into a Murano glasshouse and impatient with inherited ornament, worked glass until the source vanished and only the glow was left. Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen came at it from the north, drawing on Japanese lanterns to turn silk into atmosphere. By late afternoon the difference hardly registers: the light is simply in the room, and the room keeps it.

Elsewhere the contrasts surface. Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi hold both sides of the collection at once, Italian expression and Danish restraint, a softened archetype set against Classical stone. Structure and softness, a few steps apart, never in contest.

As the afternoon tips over, the rooms turn toward the evening. Marcel Gascoin only ever looked forward, and the sharp early work, metal and graphic line from before the warm wood that fixed the name, still looks ahead. Illum Wikkelsø built for conversation rather than retreat, an ease that once furnished a Godard interior. Tobia and Afra Scarpa understood a room as something composed rather than filled. Lamps come on, a second glass waits, and the apartment, gathered from many hands, is ready for whoever the evening brings.
