DE GOURNAY SHANGHAI

At the confluence of the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek, in a building that has watched Shanghai become what it is, de Gournay, maker of the world's finest hand-painted wallpapers and hand-embroidered fabrics, has come home.

Occupying a historic apartment overlooking the gardens of the former British Consulate-General, de Gournay's new flagship takes shape at the confluence of two rivers and two worlds: the Chinese painting tradition that stretches back millennia, and the Western interiors those painters have long shaped.

Though its name reads as French, de Gournay was established in China in the mid-1980s, reviving a painting tradition that stretches back millennia. Everything since has been an accumulation of artists, techniques, and rooms. This space, in a century-old building at the origin of the Bund, completes the circle.

For a season, GUBI is in residence among de Gournay's interiors. Do you have questions about the products at de Gournay Shanghai? Contact our experts for tailored support and professional inquiries.
