Supply Planning & Purchasing Lead

GUBI is a modern design company offering a wide variety of luxury furniture, lighting, and interior objects for both residential and commercial settings. With a strong global presence, GUBI’s headquarters and showroom are located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

About the position

As GUBI continues to grow globally, we are establishing a central Supply Planning & Purchasing function to support the next stage of our development. We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Supply Planning & Purchasing Lead to take ownership of the new function. You will translate demand into supply: what to buy, how much, and when. The goal is to ensure that each market has the products it needs, in the right quantities and at the right time, while balancing availability, inventory levels, and cash. GUBI supplies customers across EMEA, the US, and APAC, where lead times, sales channels, and demand patterns vary. Planning for those differences is central to the role. It is a role with real ownership. You will shape how the function works, from its processes and tools to its use of data and AI. Your decisions will directly affect product availability for our customers and the cash commitment to inventory. You will work closely with Category, Sales, Finance, Go-to-Market, Logistics, and Warehouse. Category decides what we want to sell and why. Planning & Purchasing decides how much we need to buy and when to support that ambition.

Key responsibilities

Planning

  • Translate sales forecasts and commercial plans into supply and purchasing requirements across our markets
  • Own inventory planning, including reorder points, safety stock, lead times, and launch stock
  • Set stock levels for each market based on its lead times and demand patterns
  • Identify risks of stockouts, excess inventory, and supply disruption early, and drive corrective actions

Purchasing

  • Own purchase orders, including quantities and timing
  • Follow up on supplier orders and proactively manage delays and shortages
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and address any shortfalls
  • Work with suppliers to secure the capacity needed to support our growth, product launches, and peak periods
  • Build purchasing processes that scale as volumes and markets grow, including consolidating orders and working with suppliers to improve lead times and optimize order quantities

AI & Data

  • Drive the use of AI and data across planning and purchasing, particularly in demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and replenishment
  • Use data to identify stock risks and opportunities early
  • Keep planning data, including lead times and order quantities, accurate and up to date

S&OP

  • Chair the monthly S&OP cycle with Sales, Finance, Category, and Go-to-Market
  • Review forecast accuracy, stock risks, and purchasing requirements, and agree on the corrective actions needed
  • Follow through on agreed actions

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in supply planning, purchasing, or inventory management
  • Hands-on experience translating forecasts and commercial plans into purchasing and inventory decisions, including safety stock, reorder points, and lead times
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, data-driven mindset
  • Experience applying data and AI tools to planning, for example in forecasting or replenishment
  • Experience working with international suppliers and physical products, ideally across several markets
  • Experience in the furniture, design, lifestyle, or consumer goods sectors is an advantage

Language skills

  • English: Professional proficiency (written and verbal) required
  • Additional languages are a plus

Personal attributes

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Commercially minded with a strong analytical approach
  • Proactive in identifying potential issues and addressing them early
  • Structured and detail-oriented while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture
  • Confident in challenging assumptions constructively and moving decisions forward
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented, and comfortable moving between analysis and execution
  • Flexible and resilient, with a positive approach when priorities change

What we offer

  • A key role in an international design company as it continues to grow globally
  • The opportunity to shape a new central function and define how it works
  • Close collaboration with management and the commercial teams across our markets
  • The chance to work with an assortment of iconic and contemporary furniture and lighting
