COMPLIANCE AND SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER
GUBI is a modern design company offering a wide variety of luxury furniture, lighting, and interior objects for both residential and commercial settings. With a strong global presence, GUBI’s headquarters and showroom are located in Copenhagen, Denmark. We are currently looking for a dynamic and organized Compliance and Sustainability Manager (CSM) to join our Product & Development team.
About the position:
GUBI is looking for an individual to drive the company's compliance strategy in key markets, including Europe, Scandinavia, the UK, the USA, Australia, and Asia. The role involves coordinating the ESG committee, as well as leading sustainability projects and reporting activities.
As CSM at GUBI, you will play a key role in ensuring our home furniture and lighting products comply with all relevant regulations and standards while implementing GUBI's sustainability strategy. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, interacting across the value chain and contributing to the growth and success of our brand.
Key Responsibilities:
• Report sustainability and CSRD standards, including Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, Biodiversity Assessments, and Double Materiality Assessments..
• Lead ESG Committee meetings, define agendas, and implement the Sustainability Strategy, focusing on projects such as designing for circularity, utilizing recycled materials, creating upcycled products, optimizing waste management, and improving packaging sustainability.
• Review and update GUBI’s internal and external policies and partner and supplier Codes of Conduct to align with compliance and sustainability objectives.
• Manage product safety compliance by staying informed about regulatory updates, renewing certifications, and maintaining relevant documentation.
• Monitor and implement Environmental and Product Regulations (e.g., PFAS, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, PROP65, WEEE, EUDR, PPWR, ESPR, GPSR, EPR, and similar), including creating templates and updating GUBI’s compliance systems.
• Oversee the certification process for environmental standards, such as GreenGuard and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), by developing procedures, conducting training sessions, and facilitating audits.
• Provide training and ongoing support to the Sales and Customer Service teams on compliance and sustainability-related topics to ensure consistency of knowledge across the organization.
• Track and evaluate supplier and stakeholder sustainability engagement, identifying opportunities for improvement and collaboration
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., compliance, environmental science, engineering).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance or sustainability.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and certification processes (e.g., FSC, GreenGuard).
• Experience conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Environmental Impact Analyses.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for sustainability and an interest in sustainable practices in the furniture industry.
• Experience in scoping and implementing sustainability strategies is an advantage but not required.

Language Skills
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication in English.
