Beetle Sofa
Design by GamFratesiTaking its inspiration from the Beetle Lounge Chair, the elongated Beetle Sofa has a rounded, protective outer shell combined with a soft inside – just like a beetle. The 2-seater Beetle Sofa plays with the contrast between the enveloping outer shell and a soft, inviting interior which encourage to be seated. The characteristic look is enhanced by the delicate, slightly conical legs, giving its light expression.The design duo GamFratesi has been looking closely at the anatomy, aesthetics and movement of a beetle where the design reinterprets the characteristic elements of the beetles’ sections: shape, shells, sutures, rigid outside and soft inside.
The beauty of the Beetle is not just aesthetic; GamFratesi’s design has proven extraordinarily versatile, allowing the creation of an expansive and ever-growing furniture family. Thanks to the adaptability of its original design language, the Beetle Collection has grown to include chairs for every function, as well as tables, sofas, and stools.

GamFratesi has been working with GUBI since the inception of their studio and the development of the Beetle Chair. With their own dual heritage, Italien Enrico Fratesi and Danish Stine Gam share GUBI's ability to synthesize seemingly opposing ideas - the classic and the contemporary, the intellectual and the sensual, the understated and the expressive, the manufactured and the unique. These juxtapositions, as well as the boldness and curiosity that drives their desire to find inspiration in unfamiliar territory, are epitomized in the Beetle.
