Unbound Table Lamp

599 €

Playful, poetic and pared back, Space Copenhagen’s design team have reimagined the traditional lantern with the calming and characterful Unbound Table Lamp. With the teardrop-shaped marble base acting as an anchor, the white linen or natural canvas shade can be effortlessly rotated around it, as though it were a sail, gently billowing. Its dark antique brass ‘mast’ supports an array of dimmable LED lights within the shade that create a soft, diffuse and evenly distributed light. The smallest of the three Unbound Lamps, it can be used as both a standalone table lamp and a floor lamp. By placing it together with the Large and Medium Unbound Floor Lamps, it helps create a sculptural cluster. Changing the angles of the ‘sails' to each other makes a calming, floating and dynamic sculpture, even when switched off. This balance of character and sophistication make the Unbound Floor Lamps destined to grace both the private home and grand projects alike.

PRACTICAL BUT POETIC

The Unbound Collection fullfils Space Copenhagen’s ambition to create a practical but poetic lantern with a distinctive sculptural character that does not impose on the space around it. Instead, the lamps define and celebrate the scale of the room, populating dark corners and gathering the boundaries together.

CHANGE ANGLES AND POSITIONS

Available in three sizes, Unbound can be positioned in unison or at angles to one another, creating an animated sculpture even when switched off. Changing angles and positions of the lamps in relation to one another therefore subtly alters the impact of the ensemble and the mood of the space from something that evokes falling leaves to clouds drifting across the sky – actions we humans are naturally drawn towards.

UNBOUND COLLECTION

Design studio Space Copenhagen is known for playing with intriguing juxtapositions in its designs, and this collection's meditation on the archetypal lantern form is no exception. The pared-back take on a traditional Japanese paper lantern balances the ethereal and the functional, while challenging the conventions of the typology in its playful asymmetry.
