Expressing an inviting softness with architectural structure, the Elogio Sofa is one of the iconic furniture designs to emerge from the husband-and-wife studio of Tobia and Afra Scarpa. Created in 1974 as an evolution of the Erasmo sofa, it introduced a new modular approach to domestic living, allowing for multiple configurations depending on the shape, scale, and style of the space. Revisited by Tobia Scarpa with GUBI five decades later, this edition has been subtly upgraded to enhance comfort and finesse the geometry of the design. Its interchangeable cushions can be reoriented to suit different needs and upholstery options, including GUBI’s new Reales and Fustagno fabrics, enhance the sofa’s tactile and visual character.

Taking its name from the Italian word for ‘praise’ or ‘tribute’, Elogio celebrates the everyday beauty of domestic life. The system comprises three elements: two modules with side panels and one armless center module. These can be used alone or combined into a wide range of configurations: linear setups, corner compositions, chaise longues, or more experimental arrangements. This versatility makes Elogio ideal for interiors of any size - from compact apartments to expansive open-plan homes and hospitality settings.
