Green is the most abundant color of the natural world and believed to be the most relaxing for the human eye. Although some greens can be assertive and attention-grabbing, softer, more organic tones such as sage green are closer to neutrals, making them highly versatile, serving equally well as accent colors or background shades.
A classic lighting design, Louis Weisdorf’s Multi-Lite receives a timely new color finish in GUBI’s semi-matt Desert Sage edition, now available for its Small Pendant and Table Lamps. Teamed with a brass base, the new color brings a soothing touch of nature into any space.
A FOCAL POINT OF ANY INTERIOR
Each lamp in the Multi-Lite Collection comprises a metal ring, three cylinders and a pair of rotating quarter-sphere shades. Angling the shades directs the light upwards, downwards or in asymmetric beams, transforming the lamp into the focal point of any interior, and allowing the user to change the mood of the space with a simple adjustment.

In parallel with a growing global appetite for natural materials and plant life in our interior spaces, we look to green colors as a way to bring the calming, rejuvenating energy of the outdoors into the home.
Bold enough to complement the Multi-Lite’s playful shape, yet able to complement many other colors, Desert Sage is the ideal addition to Weisdorf’s 1972 design for the Multi-Lite. The yellow-green shade is both period-appropriate to the lamp, while being perfect for inclusion in on-trend modern spaces.
DIVERSE AESTHETIC
Weisdorf’s 1972 Multi-Lite Collection of pendants, floor lamps and table lamps capture the ‘golden era’ of Danish design and represent the designer’s move away from his traditional style to pursue a more diverse aesthetic. As well as Desert Sage, the lamps are available in a range of curated colors, with bases in black brass, brass and chrome. Truly striking, this family of highly configurable lights combines classic materials with contemporary style. Their eye-catching design would enhance any space, public or private.
LOUIS WEISDORF
Louis Weisdorf (1932–2021) was a well-known Danish architect and industrial designer. After becoming one of the youngest designers to graduate from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, he worked across graphic, interior, architectural, and industrial design. Weisdorf described himself as a specialist in versatility, which sums up the prodigious and notable career of this multi-faceted designer.
