About the position

Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to drive positive change within a design-led organization? GUBI is seeking an ESG Intern/Trainee to support our growing Compliance and Sustainability initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience across key ESG areas, including certification tracking, compliance and regulatory frameworks, carbon footprint analysis, life cycle assessment, and research into sustainable design and future-focused materials.

Key Responsibilities

Support on:

Certification Tracking:
- Assist in managing certifications such as FSC, GreenGuard, OEKO-TEX, Cradle to Cradle etc.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
Compliance tasks:
- Support ongoing work with EUDR, CSRD, UN Global Compact, EU Taxonomy, etc.
- Help organize and renew certificates and test reports.
Sustainability tasks:
- Contribute to data collection and analysis for Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs).
- Support efforts to optimize packaging.
- Conduct research on sustainability topics, including circular economy, responsible sourcing, and sustainable materials.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders on sustainability topics.

qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in business/management, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field, where an internship is a mandatory part of the program.
Strong passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact.
Understanding of sustainability concepts and principles, including circular economy, environmental impact, and responsible materials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
Familiarity with ESG principles and sustainability frameworks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable learning new software.
Interest in product development and/or the design and furniture industry.

language skills

English: Professional proficiency (written and verbal) required.
Additional languages are a plus.
